The large number of opportunities for sightseeing offer a variety of ways to spend your time gainfully. You can explore the local environment and its wildlife by bicycle or canoe and also enjoy activities such as archery, horse riding and scenic ‘horse and cart’ tours.
For anyone interested in further sightseeing within the Szatmár region, we are close to the grave of Ferenc Kölcsey, the writer of the Hungarian national anthem. This grave forms part of a unique graveyard that is renowned throughout the world. A Kölcsey memorial museum is also nearby.
Tiszacsécse, another neighbouring village, holds many windows on the past of this fascinating region. These include the spectacular church with it’s slat clad roof and wooden belfry and the memorial house of Zsigmond Móricz.

Back at the hotel and campsite, the home made bread, bread scones, cakes and local sweets all contribute to making your stay here unforgettable. In the autumn, you can also join us in dried fruit production, pig killing tours and making our traditional plum jam.
On the 2oth of August each year, we hold the home made pasta festival, the main ingredient being flour freshly ground at the ancient watermill. This is a festival that really has to be tasted!
A little way further into the grounds, we have a large and traditionally built wooden house. This space is ideal for all manner of events. Functions include conferences, weddings, handicrafts and literature camps.
